William Pomeroy Vereen, Jr.

William Pomeroy Vereen Jr., resident of Daphne, Alabama, born December 14, 1941, passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 82. 

Bill was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama where he graduated from Theodore High School. He worked several professions, all within the electrical, mechanical, and fabrication fields. He could fix anything! He valued hard work but enjoyed several hobbies throughout his life such as fishing, camping, and boating. He forged lifelong friendships with many. He loved to make people laugh, and he never met a stranger. 

He is preceded in death by his mother (Vinnie Tanner Vereen), father (William Pomeroy Vereen, Sr.), son (Robert Vereen), niece (DeeDee Williams), and nephew (Scott Vereen). 

He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Jones Vereen; brother Robert Vereen (Diane); sister Carolyn Vereen Feltus (Ed); son William Vereen III (Connie); granddaughter Ashley Vereen Bice (Jake); granddaughter Jamie Vereen; grandson Mark Vereen (Ricki); three great granddaughters; four nephews; two nieces; several extended family members and friends who turned into family. 

Bill's love and devotion to his wife, Judy, was evident to everyone. He often boasted of their happy 62 years of marriage. 

He passed away doing his favorite thing- walking his dog CoCo. His passing was peaceful, and his family is grateful to know he is now celebrating in the arms of Christ in Heaven. 

A memorial for Bill will be held on Wednesday November 13th at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 10:00am at Wolfe Bay Funeral Home in Daphne, Alabama.
