William Lyston “Billy” Johnson, 89, a resident of Foley, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Billy was a proud Navy veteran who served during the Korean War, a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church in Foley and a member of the Beekeepers Association. He was a great man in his fashion, living a large, full life. Billy loved working, helping others, long distance running, biking and water skiing. He retired as a diesel mechanic on the oil rigs. Billy enjoyed carpentry and working on bulkheads, wharfs and helping family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Patsy B. Johnson of Foley; children, Charlotte (John) Pegoda, Cheryl (Bob) Searcy, and Clifford (Robyn) Johnson all of Gulf Shores; step-daughter, Cindy (Scott) Blackwell, also of Gulf Shores; brothers, Tommy (Elaine) Johnson of Mississippi and Michael (Laura) Johnson of Florida; sister, Maryanne Karter of Arizona; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Foley Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Brook Cedron Cemetery in Fairhope.
