William "Ed" Hudson

William “Ed” Edward Hudson, age 86, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away at his home surrounded by his family Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. (CPL). Ed was a member of the Eastern Shore Church of Christ where he served as an Elder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Atha Joyce Hudson and son-in-law, John Devon McCarter. Ed is survived by his daughters, Dawn McCarter and Angie Smith (Steve); grandsons, Kyle McCarter (Dr. Fairen Walker-McCarter) and Chase McCarter (Emily Phillips); great granddaughter, Olivia Lane McCarter; along with many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Eastern Shore Church of Christ, at 2:00. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held at the Alabama State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
