William "Carl" Herndon

William “Carl” Herndon, age 85, resident of Spanish Fort, AL, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Carl was a retired US Navy Commander and Chaplain, US Marine Corps Chaplain, and retired United Methodist Minister. He was preceded in death by his sister, Merle Yrigoyen. He is survived by wife, Ruth L. Herndon of Spanish Fort; children, Stephanie Herndon (David) Barnett of Gulf Shores, Stephen (Sabrina) Herndon of Chattanooga, TN, Allen Herndon of Woodland Hills, CA, Renee Eastman (Greg) Berger of Arlington, VA, Kim Devery of Ahwatukee, AZ; 7 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Alabama State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
