William "Bill" Toney

William “Bill” L. Toney of McDonough, Ga passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Louis and Floy Allene Toney and his siblings Robert, Dorothy (Sis) and Jackie Toney. He is survived by his wife, Jenny Toney; children, Christopher Anthony, Rodney Toney, Russell Toney, Richard Toney, Kimberly McCormack, and Candice Maness. He is also survived by his brother Edward Toney and sister Barbara Prince along with several loving nieces and nephews. Bill had many friends who he considered to be family. His legacy lives on with his 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Bill retired to Orange Beach in 2018 after years of building a successful golf cart business named Jenco after his wife Jenny. Even with his fully staffed warehouse you could find him in the back tinkering with his next invention. While he was clean and orderly, he kept his hands dirty with the daily work of the business. He clocked in at 7 every morning even after retirement to do what he loved. He spent much time pondering how to make things more efficient: in his business, in life, and in politics. He loved the art of improvement. He gave the best advice and always believed in his family and those he cared about. He was honest and stood up for what he believed. Bill’s strength will not be forgotten. When life was hard, he was a man who pushed through. In his final days Bill loved to watch the ocean from his condo in Gulf Shores. He enjoyed many visits from family while they lived at the coast. Bill felt strongly about his faith and we know he is breathing easy in heaven, praising God for his many years of life. He will be deeply missed by those who love him. There will be a memorial service at Salem Baptist Church on Saturday, May 13th at 12pm with a visitation at 11am.
