Virgie L. Smith

Virgie L. Smith, age 80, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was a faithful member of New Era Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Grand Hotel for over 50 years, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. Mrs. Smith is survived by her four children, Patricia S. Winston of Fairhope, Keith Smith of Fairhope, Lawrence Smith (Mary) of Mobile and Barbara Smith of Fairhope; seven brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2019, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at New Era Baptist Church. She will lie-in-state from 10:00 until 11:00.
