Viola Ruth Johnston

Viola Burmeister Johnston, age 80, a native and lifelong resident of Fairhope, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021. Vi was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a Registered Nurse at Thomas Hospital for 25 years. Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Katie Burmeister; brother, Fritz Burmeister; and sisters-in-law, Liz Burmeister and Bonnie Burmeister. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Johnston; two daughters, Kathy Williams and her husband Jeff, Sharon Bishop and her husband David; four grandchildren, Greg Williams and his wife Caroline, Tyler Williams, Nicole Bishop and Colby Bishop; two great grandchildren, Maxson and Wesley Williams; sister, Gloria Davis and her husband Bobby; brother, William Burmeister; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10:00am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 200 S Section St, Fairhope. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
