On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, Vince Valentim, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 85. Vince was born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 2, 1933 to Antone and Madeline Ferreira Valentim. After high school he joined the USAF serving during the Korean conflict as an airframe and power plant mechanic. He also served in a deployment to an Air Sea Rescue squadron while stationed at Itami AFB Japan, and another deployment to a weather squadron while stationed at Anderson AFB Guam. He finished his Air Force career at Brookley AFB Mobile, becoming a civil service employee prior to base closing. He retired from civil service at the Naval Air Rework Facility, Pensacola Naval Air station in 1980 as a supervisor. Vince was an avid sports fan enjoying baseball, playing golf and was a big supporter of the Crimson Tide. He was known for his wit, civic pride, and compassionate spirit to all. Vince was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rhea, and brothers, Joe and Fred. He is survived by his two children Dan (Janet), and Alisa; brother, Al Ferreira; nephews and niece. A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
