Vernon Ridings Pollard

Vernon Ridings Pollard, age 53, a native of Mobile, and a longtime resident of Point Clear, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018. Vernon graduated from St. Luke’s Episcopal School and John Shaw High School. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He attended St. James Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edwin Pollard and Janella Wood Pollard. He is survived by his brother, James Edwin “Jep” Pollard, II of Fairhope; nephews: James Edwin (Win) Pollard, III and Oliver Starke Pollard, all of Fairhope; uncle, Robert L. (Mavis) Pollard of Clinton, MS; cousins: Samuel (Mary) Fleming of Gadsden, Stephen (Janice) Fleming of Soutillo, MS, and Marcia Hammett of Memphis, TN; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery.
