Van Campbell Foster, Jr., passed away February 12, 2025, at 93 years of age. Van started his life in West Virginia where he resided until his 20’s and then moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL. There he met his wife, Sylvia McSwain, and they married in 1956. He had suffered from dementia for the past few years.
Van is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Sylvia McSwain Foster, his parents and several siblings, and is survived by daughters Pamela R. Foster, Lisa C. Foster, and Suzanne J. Foster, three grand dogs and two cats, many nieces and nephews, his brother Earnest Foster, and three sisters, Lorena, Mary, and Edda Jean.
Van was a business owner in Jackson, MS, for decades. He enjoyed working in the yard more than anything. He would cut the neighbor’s yard and anyone else’s yard that looked like it needed a good trimming. He maintained his daughters’ one acre property up until he was 90 years old. Van was a leg amputee since the age of 5, but you would have never guessed that due to his physical ability to box, water ski, swim, and bike ride.
