Susan Rae Glickman passed on April 9, 2023, in Fairhope AL. Her birth date was as unique as she was. Her parents were Leo and Millie Cohen, and she is preceded in death by her sister Illeen Eatherton and her daughter Stacey Jo Palmer. She is survived by her daughter Megan Noel Roy, her granddaughter Colbi Sue Roy, and her partner Pamela Jean Rainey. She was loved and will be missed by many. Susie moved to Fairhope in 1989 when her dear friend Fannie Flagg introduced her to the city. When people would ask how she landed in Fairhope her response was, “just lucky I guess.” Prior to moving to Fairhope, she worked for Dolly Parton for many years and held various positions. Once arriving in Fairhope, she bought Mershon Court B&B and ran it for a few years. She was the Executive Director of the Baldwin County Humane Society from 1997-1998 and received Fairhope’s First Quality of Life Award in 1996 for bricking the sidewalks of Fairhope for the Centennial. She later fell in love with line dancing and taught it for many years at the Barn and the Nix Center. Susie also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for most funds raised by a single participant from the Parkinson’s Foundation. She was a member of Unity on the Eastern Shore. She believed in God and Jesus. She modeled herself after Jesus in her ability to love and forgive. She passed with Jesus in her heart. Her service will be May 6th at 1:00pm at Wolfe- Bayview Funeral Home -Fairhope Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow at The Homestead Ballroom.
