Shirley Anne Sheehan

Shirley Anne Sheehan, age 76, longtime resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, after a long illness. She was born in Mobile, AL January 31, 1945. She attended Little Flower Catholic Grammar School and was a high school graduate of Convent of Mercy School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Springhill College in Mobile, and later earned her Master of Science degree in Library Science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Her career employment was with the Mobile Public Library as the Reference Librarian for the Moorer Branch. Shirley loved her Catholic Faith, family, friends, reading, taking walks; her neighborhood “family”, good food, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents William J. Sheehan and Jane Heard Sheehan, grandparents Dr. Wilbur Heard and Jessie Heard of Mount Vernon, AL. She is survived by many cousins and lifelong devoted friends Margie Curry and Jim Flora. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 370 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL. Rev. Steven T. Williams will be the celebrant.
