Shirley Ann Gore

Shirley Ann Gore, age 88, a resident of Gulf Shores, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on August 31, 2023. Shirley was part of a big Italian family with eleven brothers and sisters. Her parents immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island and became proud US citizens. Shirley was born in Ohio and lived in Huntsville, Alabama, for most of her life before moving to Gulf Shores, Alabama 4 years ago. She loved caring for her flowers and making things look beautiful. Shirley was a wonderful cook and enjoyed celebrating with friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and spent many years as a volunteer at Lakewood United Methodist Church where she served faithfully. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Grace Marinucci Capers and her husband of 63 years, Jerome K. Gore. Shirley is survived by her sons, Gregory (Kathy) Gore of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Scott Eric (Cathy) Gore of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Hyde of Navarre, Florida; sister, Kay (Warren) Kaebnick of Troy, OH; brother, Ronald “Dutch” Capers of Troy, OH; grandchildren, Kate Evelyn (Kyle) Rogers, Emily Claire (Eric) Trimborn, Carrie Ann Gore, Anna Grace Hyde, Brook McKinley Hyde, and Addison McKenzie Gore; great grandchildren, Gregory Dominic Rodgers, Madeline Brooks Rodgers, and Landon Oliver Trimborn; and many other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
