Shayne Robinson

SHAYNE ROBINSON LOXLEY, ALABAMA Shayne Robinson of Loxley, Alabama, passed away on August 31,2022 following a lengthy battle of illnesses following surgery 2 months ago. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Robinson; his sisters, Alicia Mccmahon (Bob) and Michelle Scoggins (Brad), as well as their children; his mother, Cathy Burgess and stepfather, Carl Burgess; his father, Steve Robinson and stepmother, Gail Robinson; his nieces (whom he loved as children), Felicia and Brittney Arnold; his great-niece and nephew (whom he loved as grandchildren) Remi Grayce Dockins and Emillio Arnold; and his grandmother, Madine Robinson; as well as many other loved family members. He was preceded in death by his grandfather (paternal), Ben Robinson and his grandmother, (maternal) Dimple Bright Atkisson. Shayne was born in Birmingham AL where he lived for most of his younger days. At the age of 24 Shayne was in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Despite his injuries he fought hard and was able to overcome many obstacles resulting from his accident. He went on to meet his wife in 2004 at the age of 32 and once married, he was able to live at home many years and experience life to the fullest. In August of 2017 he was able to move closer to the area that he loved to vacation, near Gulf Shores, Alabama in the town of Loxley Alabama. Once there he met some wonderful friends who never looked at his Disabilities but helped him thrive with his abilities. He treasured his friends and loved them like his brothers. Shayne never met a stranger and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him never forgot him. He was truly loved by all who met him. Shayne was an avid Alabama football fan, and you would find him in front of a TV on game day yelling ROLL TIDE. He loved NASCAR and loved race day but would often take his “NASCAR nap” during the race. He enjoyed going to the gun range with his best bud, Eric. Eric made his time at the gun range meaningful and was always accommodating of Shayne’s different abilities and giving him the gift of great friendship. Shayne’s family would like to thank all of the hard-working staff at both South Baldwin Hospital in Foley, Alabama and Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama for all of their devotion to his care during his stay in each of these facilities. His family is forever grateful to them. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to go toward his medical and burial expenses.
