Sandra Lee Vaughan passed away on January 26, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Sandra Vaughan was born on August 13th, 1943, in Mobile, Alabama to Ed and Ginny Lee of Fairhope, Alabama. Sandra was one of 5 siblings; 3 sisters and 1 brother. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and loved her family dearly, as they did her.
She graduated in 1961 from Fairhope High School where she was a varsity cheerleader, and even though she lived most of her life in Birmingham, she always considered Fairhope her home. Her vacations and holidays were spent with her family in the hometown that she loved so much.
On November 9, 1963, she married Dan Vaughan and had a daughter and a son. They moved their family to Birmingham, Alabama in 1973. Sandra was active in her church, Hunter Street Baptist Church, attending Sunday School and Bible studies. She retired from Briarwood Presbyterian Church after 25 years of dedicated service as the contributions and payroll secretary.
Sandra loved people and lit up a room with her effervescent spirit. She was full of joy and loved the Lord, which was evident in the way that she loved and cared for her family. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren, and never missed sports events, dance recitals, birthdays, graduations, weddings and family gatherings.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Virginia Lee. She is survived by her husband, Dan Vaughan, her two children, Stacey Bouchillon and Rob Vaughan (Sonya), five granddaughters Jenna Liles (Tyler), Camryn, Grayson, Reece, and Ava Vaughan, her grandson Evan Bouchillon and great-granddaughter Maisie Lee Liles, all of Birmingham, AL; as well as her brother, Danny Lee (Sandra) and sisters, Brenda Nelson, Glenda Beall (Richard), Connie Penry (Steve) and many nieces and nephews.
We rejoice in knowing that she is in her eternal home with Our Father, God and her loved ones. Her presence will be forever missed.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00pm at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
