Sally Wheelahan Strachan

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Sally Maureen Wheelahan Strachan, 73, of Daphne, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021.

Sally was born in Jacksonville, FL, and lived in Fairhope before moving to Daphne.

Before retirement she was a nurse at Montrose Bay Nursing Home and a nurse trainer at The American Red Cross in Mobile. Sally was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Jackie Wheelahan; sister, Patricia Margaret Wheelahan; and husband, George Owen Strachan Jr.

Sally is survived by her adoring son, Byron D. Wheelahan of Pascagoula, MS; and two grandchildren, Grayson D. Wheelahan and Abigail R. Wheelahan of Fairhope. Sally is also survived by sisters, Terry Ridgeway of Austin, TX, Sharon Wheelahan of Montgomery and Kathleen Davis of Athens; and brothers, Dennis Wheelahan of Jacksonville, FL, and Kevin Wheelahan of Daphne.

A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at Belforest Catholic Cemetery in Daphne at 3 p.m. on Saturday,

Oct. 16. A collation and family visitation will be held afterward at the St. Patrick Catholic Church Knights of Columbus Hall in Robertsdale.
