Ruth Janet Taylor, age 80, a resident of Fairhope, AL. passed away Monday, July 15, 2019. Known as “Goofy Ruthie”, she loved living life to the fullest! She loved the beach, dancing, bowling and vacationing to her favorite place of Pigeon Forge, TN. She was a VIP member of Carnival Cruise Line and always had her bags packed and was ready to travel. She was a Murphy High School Majorette, a longtime active member of Fairhope Christian Church, a former deacon, founding member of order of LaShe’s in Mobile, breast cancer survivor, active in breast cancer awareness charitable events, and a member of Baldwin County Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip F. and Mabel Pope Hollis; brother-in-law, Harold Robinson. Survivors include her son, Douglas Taylor of Porter, TX; daughter, Delane Corte (Dexter, Jr.) of Spanish Fort; sister, Marjorie Robinson of Fairhope; brother, Phillip “Andy” Hollis (Marie) of Luling, LA.; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairhope Christian Church. She will lie-in-state from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
