Russell Todd Carter, 56, passed away in his sleep on January 30, 2023, at his home in Fairhope, Alabama. A devoted husband and father, Russ was born on January 7, 1967, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Senator Bobby Carter and Pauline (Polly) Taber Carter. Russ was beloved by his wife Krista and his entire family and was an amazing dad and a beloved Pops to his grandchildren. Russ attended the Episcopal Day School and graduated from Jackson Christian School in 1986. He worked for the Coca-Cola Company and TBDN before health concerns forced him to retire. He spent several years providing loving care for his father and his mother. Russ assisted his wife Krista with animal rescue for many years and was always willing to help others. He was a 40+ gallon donor with Lifeline Blood Services in Jackson. He loved his church families at Gardner’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Blountville, Tennessee, and at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Daphne, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Adam Carter. He is survived by his wife, Krista Carter, the children of his heart, Lauren (Jon) and Chris (Anna), his granddaughters Kinsley and Adalyne, all of Fairhope, Alabama, and his sister Genny Carter of Jackson, Tennessee. He is also mourned by his mother-in-law, Sherry, his brothers-in-law, Michael and Ricky, nephew, Shane Morphis and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (JACOA) for the Bobby Carter House, the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, both in Jackson, Tennessee; Family Christian School in Denmark, Tennessee; or the charity of your choice.
