Roy G. Good

Mr. Roy G. Good, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the age of 90.

Roy was born in Walton, West Virginia, in 1934. He married Louise Gill in 1955. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wisconsin and had a long career with the Western Electric and GTE phone companies. They moved to Florida in 1969 and then on to Tennessee in 1995. In 2018, they moved to Fairhope, Alabama to be closer to family.

Roy was a member of the Fairhope Avenue Baptist church where he faithfully served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and helped with various committees. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Dewey and Gladys Good, his Sister Gathie Good Williams, and a grandson Bryan Good. 

He is survived by his wife, Louise Good; his four children Doug and Janice Good, Patti and Ken Alluise, Pam and Jimmy Maddox, David and Christy Good. In addition, he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at the Alabama State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, at 2:00pm.

To honor Roy’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church Capital improvement fund (a fund which ultimately will be used to grow others in their faith walk, which was his passion).
