Roy Gilbert Childers

Roy Gilbert Childers, age 83, a native of Ripley, MS, and a resident of Fairhope, AL., passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. He was an avid golfer, a member of PAL’s, and a baseball coach for Chickasaw and Satsuma. Roy worked and retired from Kimberly-Clark for 38 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Icie Childers; brother, Harold Childers; sister, Mildred Childers-Morris; son, Timothy Childers and grandson, Johnathan Childers. His survivors include his wife, Joan Miller-Childers; daughter, Vicki (Kyle) Lane; son, Roy (Denise) Childers, Jr.; step-son, Tony (Tami) Miller; step-daughter, Jodi (Andy) Stidfole; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, February 18, 2022, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm. Interment will follow funeral service at Satsuma Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in memory of Mr. Roy Childers, to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
