Rosemary "Rosie" Aves Covington

d. April 6, 2018

Rosemary (Rosie) Covington as born on June 30th, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Frederic and Bernadette Smith.  She was a graduate of St. Anne High School and Elkhart, Indiana School of Radiology.  She married Lester W. Covington on February 8, 1964.  Rosie is survived by her husband, Lester of 54 years, a son, Tony (Jacqueline), a daughter, Debbie, a sister, Betty (Leonard), 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Lester and Rosie lived in Lillian, Alabama for almost 25 years, having moved from Aroma Park, Illinois where they raised their children.  She was a member of the Lillian United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending Bible study classes.  She had many hobbies including quilting, drawing, gardening, hiking, bird watching, reading, working on crossword puzzles, photography, and planning Disney trips.  She loved anything Mickey Mouse, loved animals, and even hand fed a bunny named Nacho in the front yard of the house in Spanish Cove.  She had 3 cats and enjoyed watching them play and enjoyed cuddling them. She got immense joy from seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved them all dearly.  Rosie bravely fought her battle with cancer, all while displaying a tremendous amount of faith and hope in our Lord and Savior.  She was an amazing example of courage and strength.  Jesus welcomed her with open arms on April 6th, 2018 and while she is greatly missed, she has been healed and is resting in the ultimate happy place.   ARRANGEMENTS BYWOLFE-BAYVIEWFUNERAL HOMES& CREMATORY, INC.25102 STATE STREETELBERTA, ALABAMA 36530251-986-3071www.wolfefuneralhomes.com
