Rodney Alan Sloan

Rodney Alan Sloan, age 66, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025.

Rod was an avid golfer and loved anything outdoors, including boating and fishing. Although he retired, he spent much of his time helping with his son Bronson’s construction business, and that brought him so much joy. Above all, his family was what he cherished more than anything else. His children, Jenny and Bronson, were the light of his life.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Billy Ray James Sloan and Peggy Ann Bradley Sloan;

He is survived by; his loving wife of 36 years, Brenda Marie Potter Sloan; daughter, Jennifer “Jenny” (Tim) Waldt of Paducah, KY; son, Bronson (Jessa) Sloan of Fairhope, AL; brother, Steve (Sandy) Sloan; sister, Paula (Joe) Word; grandchildren, Ethan Waldt and Elizabeth Waldt; sister-in-law; Lisa Potter; sister-in-law Patti (John) Childress; brother-in-law, Danny (Denvia) Potter; brother-in-law, Coleman Potter; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Rodney’s life will be held at Fairhope Wolfe-Bayview Chapel on Thursday, March 20, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
