Robert Gerard Spielmann

Robert Gerard Spielmann, age 93, a native of New York and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020. Mr. Spielmann is a WWII veteran (U. S. Navy). Bob worked 29 years in advertising in New York City. He relocated to Mobile, AL to start WPMI TV as a national sales manager, then moved to WKRG TV in the same position. He then worked 20 years at Rock Creek Country Club. He served as President of the Mobile Jazz Festival and on the Board of Directors of MOJO. He was preceded in death by his first wife Alice N. Spielmann. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Margaret Spielmann; his children, Sandra Smith (Carl) of Greenbank, TN, Stephen Spielmann (Nancy) of Ridgefield, CT, Cynthia Eberman (Ross) of Portland, OR, Stacia McAllister (Jeff) of Ridgefield, CT J. Scott Spielmann(Susan) of Fairhope, AL; grandchildren, Casey Spielmann (Keri), Chelsea Spielmann, Jody Eberman Dorsey (Kevin), Kristin Eberman, Andrew Smith (Katie), Brenna Smith; great grandchildren, Braydon, Gavyn Spielmann, Jack Smith, Arthur Smith; step children, Juli Perkins (David) Perdido, AL, Jason Hunt (Fannie) of Peach Spring, AZ; step grandchildren, Chad Perkins, Maggie Perkins, G. A. Perkins, Elise Hunt. The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne Chapel, Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Shrine of the Holy Cross, Friday, March 13, 2020, at 11:00am. Private interment service will be in the Alabama State Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
