Robert A. Legere, Sr., 93, of Foley, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Caroline Soucier Legere, also of Foley; their children, Robert Legere, Jr., James Legere, Steven Legere, Tina Savage, and Julie Fowler; 11 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren. Robert proudly served as a sergeant in the United States Army as a tank commander in Germany after World War II. Since retiring and moving to Alabama 30 years ago, he has been actively involved in his church and community and worked for several years at St. Benedict’s School. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 16, at 10:00 am, at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Elberta, Alabama. Burial immediately following at Prince of Peace Cemetery in Elberta, Alabama. A repass will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Parish Hall in Elberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the VFW Post #5658 at: 24230 US Highway 98 Elberta, AL 36530.
