Robert “Karl” Larisey, age 64, of Spanish Fort went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 7, 2021. He was born on June 1, 1956 in Gainsville, FL to Donald R. and Juanita V. Larisey.
Karl grew up in Baton Rouge and served in the Marine Corps for 4 years. He chose education as a profession. He was a beloved teacher who touched many students’ lives by coaching, mentoring and helping them go beyond what they thought they were capable of. While Karl enjoyed the company of many friends, he most enjoyed being with his family, especially his 4 grandchildren who called him “Papa”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald R. Larisey and Juania V. Biggio; 2 brothers, Michael and Jeffrey Larisey.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cathy; 2 daughters, Annie Larisey Moore of Spanish Fort and Mollie Larisey of Fairhope; one sister, Katie Larisey of Baton Rouge; 4 grandchildren, Braeden, Aubry, Izzy and Noah; mother-in-law, Sharon Root of Chicago as well as 2 brothers-in-law, Tom Root of Chicago and Matt Root of San Diego; many nieces and nephews.
A military service will be announced at a later date.
