Robert Stanley Adcock

Robert Stanley Adcock, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born in Prichard, Alabama on November 30, 1936, to the late Jack and Pauline Adcock. During his time at Southern Miss, he met the love of his life through his sister during a weekend visit home. He loved his family and country immensely, serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. As a veteran, he passed on that spirit to his three sons, but the true joy of his life was his 64-year marriage to Jean Sibley Adcock of Stapleton, Alabama. Affectionately known as “Grandaddy” to his seven grandchildren, Bob lived life to the fullest and was a devoted family man. To his family, he was larger than life and known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He will be truly missed and remembered fondly by those who had the privilege to know and love him.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jean Sibley Adcock; son, Travis (Donna) Adcock; son David (Teresa) Adcock; son Don (Mary) Adcock; sister Mary Gayle Cole; grandchildren, Jonathan (Anna Claire) Adcock, Adam (Rosie) Adcock, Natalie (Carson) McGraw, Kennedy (Tyler) Martinez, Anna (Noah) Byrd, Emily Adcock and Megan Adcock; great grandchildren, Sailor Adcock, Hattie Adcock, Sims Adcock, Rowdy Martinez, and Amelia Alton McGraw; and niece Jessica Eubanks. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sallie (Bill) Thornton; and brother-in-law Terry Cole.

Funeral services will be held from the Stapleton Methodist Church, Monday, April 7, 2025, at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the service time.

Interment will follow in the Stapleton Methodist Church Cemetery.
