Richard Steiner, Jr., aged 67, of Spanish Fort, AL, passed away March 12, 2018 following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Dick spent his childhood in Monmouth County, NJ, and attended college and graduate school at The University of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Arts in history, as well as a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School. His 20 year career in department store retailing took him all over the country, from Seattle to New York City, to the Southwest, and finally to the Gulf Coast where he worked for Gayfer’s Department Store in Mobile, AL. He is survived by his wife, Katey Steiner; daughter, Julia Stein (Alex); son, Matthew Steiner (fiancée, Shannon Dyer); and cherished grandson, Eli Stein. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Steiner-Scott (Geoff) and Mary Steiner (David Atkin); as well as niece, Charlotte Goodall, and nephew, Alex Atkin. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Chapel in Daphne. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm with the service following at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
