Richard H. Poser August 28, 1947 - April 8, 2020 Richard was born at the Jordan Clinic in Battles Wharf, living his entire life in Fairhope. As a youngster, he lived on Fish River and Fly Creek, enjoying his love of fishing. With friends he played in Fairhope’s gullies; hiked and camped in the woods before the housing boom. Richard loved to visit his Aunt Grace and Uncle Herman in Magnolia Springs. He would shoot game in the morning, and his Aunt would cook it for supper. Richard attended Fairhope schools, playing in the High School Band. He served his country in the National Guard. He worked for Poser Business Forms until he retired. Richard stayed busy in retirement; lamp and chandelier repair/rewire, furniture repair/refinish, re-cane and refinish chairs, antique restoration, sand blasting, and custom woodwork. He especially loved taking a block of wood and turning it on a lathe into a bowl, a vase, a keepsake box or other wood objects. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eleanore Poser. Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Betty, brother, Walter (Nancy) Poser in California, sister, Ann Creamer in Arizona, his son, Richard in Fairhope, his step-daughter Debbie (Harry) Mattheus in Florida, three grand- children, Adam (Kristy) Mattheus in the Navy in California, Jarrod (Nichole) Mattheus in Florida, Sarah Mattheus in Florida, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope or the Thomas Hospital Foundation in Fairhope.
