Richard “Rich” Glenn Pope, age 60, a resident of Gulf Shores, Al, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Rich was born in Pennsylvania and raised all over the country as the family moved often. He was a graduate of Florida State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in economics. Rich worked as a salesperson in the electrical industry, and really enjoyed spending his free time with friends and family. His favorite things were FSU football, Jimmy Buffett, trivia, and beer, which is why he could often be found hanging out at his local Pub. 

Preceding him in death are his parents; Jack and Connie Pope.

Rich is survived by; his brother Mark Allen Pope of Moab, Utah; sister, Kathy and her husband J.B. Braden of Clayton, GA; his dear friend Leanne “LouLou” Eastell of Queensland, Australia; and his many other loving relatives and friends local and abroad.

All who may be in the area of Gulf Shores, AL on Nov 9th, and wish to join us for a final farewell & LIFE CELEBRATION for RICH POPE -we’ll be gathering at noon at his old Sandy Shores condo location, 1041 W. Lagoon Ave, (+ West 10th) Gulf Shores (#202 bldg) We’ll be gathering in the parking level, and then head out to the lagoon point for a paddle-out or shore-watch cremains drop 💜. All are welcome to attend. If you do plan to join us—please leave an RSVP below. There may be additional parking spaces within walking distance at the Beach House Kitchen & Cocktails location near W. 11th St.
