A much-loved father, grandfather, friend and brother, Richard K Meyer Jr.”Kemp”, 73, of Fairhope, AL died Tuesday June 27, 2018, at his home of natural causes. Born April 5, 1945, in Peoria, Illinois to Richard K Meyer, Sr. and Alice Schriver Britton, he is survived by his mother; two sons, Richard K. III of Memphis, TN and Kerrick K. of Plainfield, IL; a daughter Kimberly A. Fuller of E. Peoria, IL; a brother, Merritt K. of Bristol, RI; two sisters, Barbara Meyer Elesh of Rockville, MD, and Emily Meyer Naegeli of Potomac, MD; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. After service in the US Navy, Kemp graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, where he also received an MBA. He was an Inventory Control Specialist at WABCO in Peoria, IL prior to pursuing his passion as an avid antiquye art, coin, and stamp collector. He loved boating, fishing, and was always up for a good debate with friends. He loved his family and friends dearly and showed it daily through his compassion for others. He will be missed by many. Private cremation services were held at Wolfe-Bayview funeral home in Fairhope.
