Rebecca Lynn Fontenot

Rebecca Lynn Fontenot, age 72, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 after an extended illness. She was born August 21, 1948 in Fairfield, AL to the late Sarah Lee and Leonard Alverson. She married her best friend and love of her life, Joseph ‘Steven” Fontenot on April 17, 1968 who preceded her in death in 2011. Rebecca followed her husband around the world as they created a life together. Her most important job was that of an amazing mom. She lived in many countries gaining friends from around the world. She enjoyed creating beautiful things for others through crafting, shopping, planting beautiful flowers and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She treasured her relationships with her family and friends and always ended her conversations with “love you more!” Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fontenot, her parents, Sarah Lee Guido, Betty Alverson and Leonard Alverson, her brother, Jack Zimmerman and sister, Delores Alverson. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Baker and husband Neil of Daphne, AL, Jason Fontenot and his wife Jessica of Traverse City, MI. Five grandchildren, Wheeler and Brennyn Fisher, Riley, Peyton and Hayden Fontenot, brother Stephen Zimmerman of Kenner, LA, sisters Deborah Spikes of Headland, AL, and Teresa Dehne and her husband Steven of Ashford, AL and many special nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or a charity close to your heart. Funeral services will be held at Wolfe- Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 2:00pm.
