Pamela Ann Lytle

d. January 21, 2024

Fairhope

In Loving Memory of Pamela Ann Lytle, a native of Garnett, Kansas with proud mid-western roots, Pam Lytle, born on December 31, 1949, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Bob Lytle. Pam is survived by her three cherished children: Scott DeGraeve (LeeBeth), Jeff DeGraeve (Kristan), and Corey Lytle (Rebecca). She leaves behind a legacy of love through her six prized grandchildren: Chloe, Cameron, Ethan, Abigayle, Lucas, and Anna. She is also survived by her brothers Jerry Halstead and Doug Thomas; sister, Vance Sample (Larry); adored sister-in-law Jill Halstead; cousins Tim Cornelius, Connie Cornelius and Vicky Matacia; as well as nephew David Halstead (Danielle), niece Ashley Thomas, and great-nephew Jace Halstead.

Pam was preceded in death by her father Loren Halstead, her mother Carolee Sansone, and stepfather Dean Donald.

A woman of many talents, Pam was a master seamstress, almost a master gardener, and an exceptional cook. Her home in Fairhope, Alabama, was meticulously maintained while always welcoming a family fun day or a meal with friends.  Pam’s passion for learning led her to become a Registered Nurse at the age of 43. She dedicated many years to nursing and helping people until her well-deserved retirement. In her post-retirement years, she fully embraced the role of grandmother (Pally as the kids call her). As soft as she was, she was also tough as nails - having defeated stage 4 lung cancer several years ago.

Pam's sense of humor and quick wit were matched only by her kindness. She was a storyteller, sharing anecdotes about her children's antics and life lessons. Greetings from Pam always included a warm hug and a loving kiss. Pam valued family above all else and instilled this sentiment in her sons and daughters-in-law. Her nurturing spirit extended to everyone she met; making countless treasured friendships along the way. Pam's impact will forever be felt in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing her.

Services to celebrate Pam’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27, at 11:00 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church; with visitation starting at 9:00. Father Steve Williams will be officiating the ceremony. There will be a private interment at a later date.

Pam’s legacy will forever shine bright in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. May she find eternal peace in the heavens above, surrounded by the love she so fiercely shared during her time on Earth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Pam’s memory.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 139:9,10
