Norma Dean Southern

Norma Dean Southern, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the age of 82.

She was born in Warrior, Alabama, to Otis and Helen Watson. She loved watching and feeding her hummingbirds and gardening.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Volking of Foley and Kelly Southern of Fairhope; son, David Cato of New Mexico; brother, Rex Watson; sister, Sandra Hamilton; grandchildren, Alexandra Osborne, Sarah Dewitt, Lori Meier, and Amber Cato; three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and dear friends; and her fur baby, Sassy.

A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor her memory, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
