Norma Long Schafer

Norma Long Schafer, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the age of 80. She was born and raised in Silverhill and was a longtime resident of Foley, Alabama. Norma loved digging in the dirt, feeding and watching her birds, and took great joy in any time spent with her children, but especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Robertsdale.Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Grace Philips, her siblings; Austin Philips (Shirley), Joyce Clark (Homer), Barbara Young, Norman Philips, and Nancy Ewing (Elvin).She is survived by her brother Albert Philips, Jr. of Silverhill, AL, her children, Allan Long (Cindy) of Silverhill, AL Debbie Bordelon (Walter) of Bordelonville, LA, Shelley Owen (Jim) of Magnolia Springs, AL and Phillip Long (Michelle) of Silverhill, AL, her grandchildren Christy Pumphrey (Eric), Missy Long, Lacey Rabalais (James), Chandler Hazelwood (Kati), Chase Long (Kristin), Ashley Wilks (Jeff), Hannah Long, Brooke Long, and Emma Long; and her nine great-grandchildren Kensley Pumphrey, Emory Pumphrey, Nathan Rabalais, June Wilks, Porter Pumphrey, Lincoln Rabalais, Walker Wilks, Olivia Long, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of Parker Long in June. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11:00 am at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, AL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow the service at Silverhill Cemetery.
