Naomi Vyvyane Pulliam, 97 passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at The Blake Memory Care facility in Daphne, Alabama. She was born on August 12, 1923 to Ben L. and Clara Mae Jenkins Young in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by her sons Joe C. Pulliam, Jr. of Pilot Point, Texas, Ronald B. Pulliam and wife Debbie of Summerdale, Alabama, her grandson, Robert J Pulliam and wife Jessica of Dallas, Texas, and her nephew Ben L. Young III and wife Lisa of Redondo Beach, California. Naomi graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1941 in Tulsa. She was a devoted wife to her husband Joe C. Pulliam, Sr. for 66 years until he passed in 2008. She was president of the PTA at Stephen Foster Elementary and president of the Women of the Church at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas. She remained active in her church life in New Orleans and became a Stephen Minister at the First Presbyterian Church in Rogers, Arkansas. As a loving mother, she kept her boys involved in sports, music, and church. Her love for music started as a natural at the piano, a dancing queen in high school, and carried on as an avid fan of the Lawrence Welk Show. She touched many lives from her charitable work with Meals on Wheels to entertaining the residents at the memory care on the piano in spite of her Alzheimer’s disease. She will be buried at the Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
