Myrna Anne Newell

Myrna Anne Newell, age 83, a resident of Gulf Shores, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 after a prolonged illness. She was a native of Zion, IL. Myrna Anne worked as a model to pay her way through college and as a tour guide for Abbot Labs where she met her husband, Alvin J. Newell, born in Red Bay, AL. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the National College of Education, Chicago, IL. Myrna Anne loved children and she taught school in Zion, IL and neighboring school districts. She sang in many churches and events and loved acting in plays and musicals. She was a former member of Lakeshore Tabernacle, Kenosha, WI and Gulf Way Assembly of God, Gulf Shores, AL. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Allen Newell; parents, Harold and Ann Tatsch; brother, Harold Tatsch, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alvin J. Newell, Gulf Shores, AL; daughter, Cynthia A. Warren, Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren, Ryan Warren, Chicago, IL and Alyssa Warren, Boca Raton, FL; sister, Merrily (Kenneth) Knepper, Leesburg, FL; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Myrna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, AL. A Celebration of Myrna Ann’s Life will follow in the chapel at 2:30 PM.
