Obituary of
Myra Gayle Pierce, Gulf Shores, AL (formerly of Birmingham, AL)
Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Gayle Pierce, returned to her Heavenly Father on her 70th birthday, March 23, 2024.
She fought a battle with cancer for four years with courage, bravery, dignity, and grace. Gayle’s caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone she met. She had a special gift of bringing out the best in people.
Gayle loved all things Mardi Gras and founded the Fort Morgan Mardi Gras Parade.
Gayle was a lover of the outdoors and spent much of her time fishing, camping, and providing a safe haven for the turtles. She loved the beach and the bay and the serene beauty it encompassed. Gayle also had a love of music which was an expression of her emotions and her individuality.
Auburn football was a huge part of Gayle’s life, and she attended games whenever she could.
Gayle loved to travel visiting many states, including Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands, Europe, and cruising the Caribbean Sea.
Gayle owned her own business – painting the interiors of homes, for which she had an eye for detail that would bring out the beauty of any room. She would re-finish furniture to bring about a treasure.
Her love for the outdoors and music were only surpassed by the love she had for her family and friends from every corner of the state and beyond.
