Michele T HANSON

HANSON DAPHNE, ALABAMA   Michele T. Hanson , Age 51, a native of Pensacola, FL and a resident of Daphne, AL  went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.   Michele worked for the City of Daphne for the last 23 years and was involved in her community.  She was a Charter member of Apollo’s Mystic Ladies and also the Mystic Order of Gators. Her involvement also included the Daphne Optimist Club, Relay for Life and the Out of the Darkness Walk for suicide prevention.  Michele loved all things Mardi Gras and was an avid Alabama football fan.  But more than any of this, she was a loving wife and mother, devoted daughter and sister and loyal friend.   Michele is preceded in death by her father, Louis Tarter; grandparents, Lou and Marie Tarter and Lawrence and UL Gibson.   Survivors include her devoted husband, Mund Hanson of Daphne, AL; daughters, Laura Whalen and Paige Whalen both of Daphne, AL; step-daughters, Jenny (Brad) Binning of Daphne, AL and Katie (Mike) Diegan of Daphne, AL; parents, Jerry and Sheila Klein of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Angie (Frankie) Bryson of Spartanburg, SC, Tracy (Eren) Sullivan of Lynn Haven, FL, Christy (Mike) Morgan of Pensacola, FL and Rachael Tarter of Pensacola, FL; step mother, Barbaree McCleskey of Pensacola, FL; step brother, Scott Klein of Spartanburg, SC.; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Coastal Church, 11101 County Rd. 64, Daphne, AL. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from, 10:00am until service time.   Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.       A special thanks to the employees of the City of Daphne, Southern Cancer Center, Southern Care Hospice, Bright Star Home Care and Fired Up, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the American Cancer Society, City of Daphne Relay for Life Team, checks can be mailed to 26435 Public Works Rd., Daphne, AL. 36526.
