He is preceded in death by his Father, Michael Vincent Cravatt Sr (1908 – 1954) and three brothers, Michael Charles “Chuck” (1947 – 1984); Michael Vincent Jr “Vince” (1949 – 2013); and Michael “Richard” (1938 – 2017). He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Cravatt and Treva (Darrell) Rowell; his mother, Caroline Aurora Vicenta “Carol” Vargas Cravatt; three sisters, Miriam Grace “Mickey” (Jim) Hassell, Patricia Caroline “Pat” (Danny) Hardy, and Marguerite Cravatt; and, two brothers, Michael Thomas Sr “Tommy”, and Michael Samuel “Sam” (Christine) Cravatt. His dream to be a Military Pilot unachieved due to an arrest record for fighting just after 18 years of age did not deter him from getting a Private Pilot License. He loved planes and motorcycles and often owned a Harley. Chip began his career when George Watson taught him the plumbing business, that later became The Friendly Plumber. He advanced to Daniel’s Construction Company in the early 1960’s which led him to work throughout the U.S. and abroad. He was very proud that he was able to help all of his brothers obtain employment and they worked together on many jobs. Chip would give you the shirt off his back but make you think you were paying for it. He loved his daughters and always told them so, as well as how proud he was of them. He loved his family and a good party. He enjoyed a steady social life surrounded by family, friends and acquaintances. He bought a bus to take the fun on the road; most especially to Talladega and Daytona every year. He always wanted to have a family business and that wish became a reality when he made a deal with his daughter, Michelle to open a 4-Wheel Drive Race & Mud Bog Track. He said, I’ll build it and you run it. He was very proud that many said it was the best track around. He left behind many, many memories for many, many people. He was a very consistent man and never wavered in his opinions. He enjoyed learning things that were not the norm and enjoyed sharing them with all. Everyone who knew him can tell you something they learned from him among the many fond memories with him. He was Loved and will be missed. His body was donated to science as he had always wished.
