Melvin Eugene Wilson, age 69, a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. Melvin proudly volunteered in the United States Army through two tours in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star. He was a longtime employee of GAF Building Materials in Mobile. Melvin is survived by his wife, Ginny Wilson of Spanish Fort; daughters Cinda (Henry) Woodyard of Ellisville, MS and Kellen (Michael) Curry of Brandon, MS; sons Daniel Wilson of Mobile, Jamie (Stacey) Wilson of Bentonville, AR, Phillip Wilson of Fairhope, and Eugene (Ashley) Wilson of Spanish Fort; sisters Lindia Bodiford of Dothan and Peggy Sowell of Mobile; brothers Thomas Wilson and Wayne Byrd of Mobile; 16 grandchildren, especially Nathaniel Mastin; close friend Ferrell Mastin; many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:30 am at the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
