DAPHNE, ALMaxine Charles Harris, Born in Tracy City, TN on September 15, 1927, moved to Chattanooga, TN at an early age. Educated in Public Schools and Edmundson School of Business. She was employed with the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. After marriage to Jack W. Harris and moving to Knoxville, she was employed by the University of Tennessee College of Agriculture. After returning to Birmingham, AL she was employed by the Center Point Fire District until she retired and moved to Daphne, AL She was a member of the Lake Forest Women’s Club and Spanish Fort United Methodist Church. Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her parents, Benton M. and Thelma H. Charles. Survivors include her husband, Jack W. Harris of Daphne, AL; daughter, Marta H. Manderson of Tuscaloosa, AL; son Charles K. Harris and his wife, Virginia of Fontana, CA; grandson, Brandon Harris, granddaughter, Amy Harris, granddaughter, Amanda Harris and great grandson, Jayden Harris. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2:00pm at Spanish Fort United Methodist Church, with Reverend Bill Price officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00pm until time of the service Pallbearers will be Gerald Greene, Rodney Lee, Bob Goldi, Bennie Dunn, Bob Segalls, and J. R. Allstun.
