Matthew Russell “Matt” Abel, age 42, native of Iowa City, IA and resident of Fairhope passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021. Matt loved people, animals, sports, family and wrestling. He is survived by his parents, Dana Hurkett and Lyle Abel of Fairhope; 3 brothers, Paul Abel of Fairhope, Gavin (Maura) Abel of Daphne, Derek Abel of Foley; grandmother, Alice Hurkett; aunts, uncles; nephew, Justice; niece, Aria and numerous friends. A Celebration of Matt’s life will be held at a later date.
