Mary Woodham, age 94, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August, 11, 2023. She grew up in Alabama and attended Auburn University (War Eagle!), where she met her husband. She lived a great life with her husband, Sam, who worked for International Paper Company, living and making friends throughout the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. She was an artist, mainly painting in watercolors. Her art hangs in her children's and grandchildren's homes, where it is enjoyed and now so meaningful. She was predeceased by her husband of many decades, Samuel R. Woodham, as well as her parents, Tera Mae and Oscar Jackson, and her sister, Jane Campbell (Gene). She is survived by her daughter, Jane Griffin (Bill) of Madison, MS, and her son, Riley Woodham (Jami) of Bay St. Louis, MS, as well as her four grandchildren; Jordan, Curt (Elizabeth), Brannan, and Sam, and her nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff and her friends at Westminster Village, and to her dear friend Augusta. She was honored with a private family service and buried next to her husband in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. James Episcopal Church (https://www.stjamesfairhope.org) in Fairhope, AL, the Eastern Shore Art Center (https://esartcenter.org) in Fairhope, AL, or your charity of choice.
