Mary Kathleen Flynn Stelly, age 54, passed away surrounded by her family on March 12, 2018. A dedicated, loving wife, mother and grandmother, she leaves behind her father, Sidney Flynn, of Lafayette, LA; her devoted high school sweetheart, Dr. Terry Stelly, of Mobile, AL; sons, Colin, of Mobile, AL and Drew, and wife Lauren, of Prairieville, LA; daughters, Loren and husband, Chris, of Baton Rouge, LA; and Meghan and husband, Andrew, of Greenville, SC. She also leaves behind sisters Delia Flynn, of Pineville, LA; Elizabeth Baudoin, and husband Paul, of Baton Rouge, LA; Lydia Davis, of Lafayette, LA; and brothers Tim Flynn, and wife Nan, Kyle Flynn, and wife Chris, Art Flynn, and wife Cindy, all of Lafayette, LA. Perhaps her greatest joy in life beyond raising her children, our beloved “Lolli” leaves behind three well-loved grandchildren, John Patrick McIntyre and Haley and baby Stelly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and leaves behind many close friends who will miss her deeply. Kathleen graduated from Lafayette High School and attended Louisiana State University. She joyfully devoted her life to the care of her family, and especially enjoyed spending time at the beach, LSU football and baseball (especially when they beat Alabama), and visiting her family and friends around the country. Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Flynn of Lafayette, LA; and brothers, George Kevin and Steven Flynn, of Lafayette, LA. Visitation will be held from 4-5 PM, with a mass and reception to follow, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Mobile, AL on Wednesday, March 14. A graveside service to honor her memory will be held at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Pineville, LA on Thursday, March 15 at 3 PM. The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary effort of those that were so helpful to them. Sincerest thanks to the entire staff of Thomas Hospital, the Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgical Associates team, and especially Dr. Trey Pluscht, Dr. William Johnson, Dr. John Boyer, MeLissa Vandenberg, and Jason White.
