Mary McNeill Cox

Mary McNeill Cox, 94, a resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

After raising her family, Mary completed undergraduate degrees in English and History. She then obtained a master1s degree in social work and worked for the State of Alabama in various positions as a social worker for many years. Mary loved history and traveled extensively throughout Europe. She was active and volunteered for many years at Prodisee Pantry in Spanish Fort. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Wilton E. Cox. 

She is survived by her son, Allen Cox of Spanish Fort, AL; daughters, Jane Gursky {Peter) of Daphne, AL, Sally Christian of MS and Nancy Cox of Daphne; sister, Boogie Burks (Bobby) of TN; grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at a private family cemetery.
