Martha Frances Scott

Martha Frances Scott, age 103, a longtime resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She was a longtime member of Fairhope United Methodist Church and volunteer at Thomas Hospital. She was a remarkable seamstress, loved to paint and garden. Her family will remember her beautiful birthday cakes. Martha was active in the Montevallo PTA, Band Boosters, Garden Club and First United Methodist Church of Montevallo.Martha is preceded in death by her husband, John Watts Scott. She is survived by her children: John Watts Scott, Jr, of Atlanta, GA, Mary Ann Days of Mobile, Martha Elizabeth Ballentine of Arlington, VA, Ellen Lawrence of Irondale, and Susan Sharifie of Mobile; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Fairhope United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. The family will begin receiving friends at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Colony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope United Methodist Church or Thomas Hospital.
