Marilyn McGinley

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marilyn Eileen McGinley, a native of Bakersfield, California and resident of Fairhope, Alabama, who passed away on April 24, 2020 at the age of 70. She and her husband recently celebrated 50 years of marriage in August 2018. They lived most all of their married life in Bakersfield, California and moved to Alabama in 2018 to be closer to their son and grandsons. She was predeceased by her parents, Wes and Grace Cook; her brother Jay Cook; and her sister Margie Chicca. She is survived by her husband Rick McGinley; her sister, Janet Schmidt (Doug) of Napa, California, her daughter, Amy McGinley of Bakersfield, California; her son Blake McGinley (Amber) of Fairhope, Alabama; her grandsons, Ty McGinley and Jace McGinley; and many other loving relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in her name to either USA Mitchell Cancer Institute in Fairhope or Lampro Asteri Shining Star Inc. supporting Fairhope's youth.
