Marie Josephine Hamburg

HAMBURG FOLEY, ALABAMA Marie Josephine Hamburg, age 81, a resident of Foley, AL, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017. Marie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Foley, where she also served as a Stephen Minister.  She was active in the L.A. Dixie Divas Red Hatters and the Monday Grannies Card Group. Marie served as a past board member of the Clothes Closet of Foley. Preceded in death by her first husband,Roy Nelson and  Julius “Shorty” Hamburg. Survivors include her children, Kerri J. (Gary) Anenberg  of Simi Valley, CA, Scott Nelson of Long Beach, CA, Andrew (Pennie) Nelson of La Mirada, CA, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Lewandowski of Illinois,  Louise Haan of Virginia; a brother, Albert Smith of Illinois and other loving relatives and friends. A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held Wednesday, August 16 , 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Foley at 10:30am. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Foley.
