Margaret June Nelson

Margaret June Nelson, born July 12, 1935, to Carl J. and Albena L. Wright, passed away on November 2, 2023. She married Robert D. Nelson on August 19, 1955. She was a military wife for the first 18 years she was married. In 1974 she went to work at Holland Pharmacy for Mr. Dukes and worked there until 1993 when it closed. She then went to work at Fairhope Pharmacy for Mr. Barnhill and worked there until she retired in 2020. She knew most of the customers by name and all about their families. She never met a stranger. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was very involved in the church. She helped with the church Christmas Bazaar, pancake breakfast, fish fry and many other activities. She was the matriarch of the family. Always there for all her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, cousins and nieces and nephews. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Who’s going to burn the biscuits now? She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Nelson; her son, Perry S. Nelson; her parents, Carl and Albena Wright; her brother, Don Wright; her in-laws, Robert H. and Henrietta Nelson; brother-in-law, Bill Payer and sister-in-law, Jackie Wright. Margaret is survived by her children, Tracy Gillespie (Rob), Perry Nelson (Judy), Tina Wilkes (Jeff Radiola); grandchildren: Kelly Brade (Zadoc), Lucas Thornton, Kasha James (Jason), Jan Geldart (Jimmy), April Wilkes, Jeffrey Radiola (Hunter); great Grandchildren: Te’a Hall, Andrea Wilkes-Harrison, Lalelan Geldart, Jackson Geldart; sister/brother in laws, Elaine Wright (Don), Annette Payer(Bill) Bubba and Lois Nelson.
