Born on December 12, 1939, in Mobile, AL, Margaret “Peggy” Luzena Constantine, 83, peacefully returned to her heavenly home on April 28, 2023, after years of battling the effects of Lewy Body Dementia. In death she is joyously reunited with loved ones who have gone before, including her father, Preston Elmer “Peg” Glass; her mother, Irma Goins Glass; her sister, Mary Nell “Bitsy” McAdams; her husband, Robert “Bob” Louis Constantine; and her grandson, Christian Hunter Constantine. She was deeply loved and will be remembered and greatly missed by those who survive her, including her children, Meredith Layne (Barry) Giles; Ronda Kae (Jeff) Egbert; Laura Lee (Keith) Coon; Daren Lee (Kimberly) Constantine; Nathan Mark (Stacey) Constantine; Michael John (Kristie) Constantine; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In the early years of their marriage, Bob and Peggy embraced the light and truth found in the gospel of Jesus Christ and raised their family as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was her honor to faithfully serve in many capacities in the church and her support was also vital to her husband’s service. Peggy was intelligent, sociable, and gifted with many talents, but her greatest legacy is one of deep faith and diligent perseverance. This was particularly made manifest in her final years as she endured the challenges of mental decline with the grace and dignity of one who knew she was a daughter of God and absolutely loved and trusted in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Her heart filled with charity, she served all with whom she came in contact throughout her life. She endured well to the end and the rippling effect of her bright influence continues for generations.
